A Fresno native, Jared Gordon grew up in Southeast Fresno and graduated from Edison High School in 1995. He attended Claremont McKenna College, graduating magna cum laude in 1999 with a B.A. in Government and Legal Studies. He earned his law degree from UCLA School of Law in 2003.
Jared has lived in District 2 since September 2006. He closed on his house on the same day as his first date with Dr. Yvette Segura, a child psychologist at Children’s Hospital. They have been happily married since 2008, and are devoted parents to Mari (age 9) and Isla (age 7), who love to read and build things out of Legos, but who don’t practice their musical instruments often enough.
Jared previously worked as General Counsel for an online advertising company that was ranked the 12th fastest growing company in America, with over $100 MM in annual revenue. He also served as General Counsel for an online investment company, and at a Facebook games company.
He is currently an attorney at McCormick Barstow, advising and helping people and businesses negotiate agreements and understand the law. Jared is a recognized leader in the field of Internet and technology law.
Jared is also the unofficial head of his firm’s foodie group, and he often takes his coworkers to enjoy Fresno’s wide variety of different restaurants and cuisines. Jared is a fan of Thai, Oaxacan, and Indian food, and he loves a good taco.
Jared served on the City of Fresno Charter Review Committee, where he drafted a portion of the Charter later approved by the voters. He is a graduate of Leadership Fresno and the San Joaquin Political Academy. He is an active member of the Fresno Chamber Governmental Affairs Committee.
He helped found the Central Valley Tea Party, managing media and organizing protests against fiscally irresponsible policies. Jared was previously a Fresno Country Republican Party Central Committee member, and the co-chair of the Fresno County Bush-Cheney 2004 get-out-the-vote effort.
He is an avid football fan, and you will find him rooting for the Bulldogs at nearly every home game or rooting for the Bruins on TV.
